The response to our last newsletter “Signs of a Cheating Spouse” was overwhelming. In our experience, especially within the last few years, a woman is just as likely as a man to commit adultery.
If you missed our newsletter, read on for a recap plus a few more tidbits:
- Initially, the spouse is suddenly more attentive than usual (due to guilt). The cheating spouse then may easily find fault with his/her mate to try to “justify” the affair. Becomes defensive if you mention infidelity or affairs.
- Will lose interest in their home life and their children; seems bored with life in general.
- Begins taking a stronger interest in their appearance. May have a “glow” about them. Wardrobe purchases increase.
- Considerably less intimacy in the relationship and sex life is altered in one way or the other.
- Will begin to work late or go in to work extra early. More dinner meetings with “clients” and business trips.
- Will have frequent unexplainable absences from home. Also difficult to reach at work.
- Rarely answers cell phone when you call. Discontinues cell phone itemization and/or changes the billing address.
- Noticeable increase of ATM withdrawals, and decrease in deposits. You may discover the opening of a new checking or credit card account. Unexplained receipts found.
- More and more mail sent to their business address, or they may get a post office box.
- An unusual amount of hang up or “Sorry, wrong number” calls. When the cheating mate receives a phone call, he/she may whisper, go outside, and/or end the call abruptly.
- The passenger seat in the car has been moved and is not in the usual position. Automobile mileage is not consistent with claims made by the cheating spouse.
- Increased computer activity, especially during late night and early morning hours while you are asleep. Screen minimized quickly when you walk into the room. Passwords are changed, and you may discover a secret e-mail account.
